Dual Enrollment
Dual Enrollment:
Dual enrollment allows high school students to take college classes while still in high school. These classes count for both high school and college credit, which can save you time and money later.
Why Dual Enrollment Matters
Taking a college class shows that you are ready for advanced work. UC, CSU, and private colleges like to see students who go beyond the minimum. Doing well in dual enrollment can make your application stronger and help you stand out.
Benefits of Dual Enrollment
- Earn college credits that may transfer to UC, CSU, or private colleges
- Save money by finishing courses now instead of later
- Explore majors or careers while still in high school
- Build confidence and experience in a real college setting
What to Keep in Mind
- Be responsible because dual enrollment requires commitment and good time management
- Grades count twice since they go on both your high school and college transcript
- Not all courses transfer so check with your counselor or the transfer office of the college you want to attend
